About Us
Everett Van Wormer worked at American Fire Apparatus from 1970 to1978. Starting out as a fabricator he worked his way to Plant Superintendent. When American Fire Apparatus went out of business, Everett purchased some of their equipment and began Wolverine Fire Apparatus.
In February 1978 Wolverine Fire Apparatus was established. Wolverine has built grass units, tankers, pumpers, and rescues and specializes in Custom Fire Apparatus. Everett, a firefighter since 1975, personally oversaw the construction of all trucks to make sure that each and every vehicle that left the plant was constructed to the tightest, most rigid specifications. This philosophy has created many satisfied and repeat customers over the years. Because of honorable business concepts, a quality product, and quality customer service, many of the Wolverine Apparatus Sales were finalized with nothing more than a handshake.
In February 2004 Wolverine was purchased by Shane Williams. Shane, with 14 years of firefighting experience, currently owns Fire Trader Magazine. Ironically, Shane acquired the name of American Fire Apparatus and builds apparatus out of Union City, Michigan.
Our goal is to become the preferred one-stop shop for fire departments. With two locations building and servicing apparatus, a full product catalog, and Fire Trader Magazine, we can fill most any need a fire department may have
